Dog Hash #118 | Blackmore Drive

Lele has so many happenings to blog about that it have been kept in my draft folder for the past weeks. Need to buck up and stop getting lazy. But Lepawsvoyage Facebook Page has much more activities than the blog with constant photos update. Thanks Pappi for taking great pictures of lele and her pawpals and sharing in FB. Do check out the pics, ya.

Well, let’s get on to writing a quick blog now before my brain went dead.

Weather in Singapore is getting eractic. It was raining almost the whole afternoon for today. Due to the rain, lele’s agility training got cancelled. This is something I always look forward having fun with lele. But anyway, there is the once a month dog hash today. Something lele enjoyed even more than agility. She will howl and run aimlessly, climb up and slide down slopes and showing off her agility skills by jumping over tree trucks and branches. This dog hash is the most muddiest run I ever did. I don’t know how many times I actually slips but luckily manage to regain my posture. I even got my foot stuck in the mud and almost spilt my pants. LOL… It is a great hash and lele really enjoyed herself to the peak. I am happy that I decided not to back out in bringing lele for this hash due to the rain. Seeing lele’s face lighten up the moment we arrive the site and her hyperness makes all the aftermath of muddy clothings and showering of the my little gal all worthwhile.

Lele’s weekend outing

September 25, 2011 3 comments

Since I’ve started work, I have shortchange lele for her daily walks as well as weekend outings. She has been cooping up with all those energy at home hence getting rather mischevious by chewing and racking things at home. Finally, pappi and I got a chance to bring her out for the SPCA World Animals Day event at East Coast Park. Initially I intended to have her participate in the fun agility but we were rather late as the other trailers have started to walk the course. Nevertheless, lele get to meet up with her pawpal Junior. They greet each other with overwhelmed response, mouthing, pushing and jumping on each other.

After a while, we decided to switch to West Coast dog run. Another of lele’s pawpal, Marni was around the area. His pappi brought him over to meet us. Everyone had great fun so was CS whom took quite a number of pretty pics. It was a fun-filled laughter day especially when Marni and Lele wrestled non-stop for like 15 mins. They just cannot get enough of each other especially on the humping moments. Lele is so un-glam and really lose all her princess-look image when she plays with Marni. Better not go more into it. *Zip*

Dog Hash #116 – Lorong Lada Hitam

September 4, 2011 2 comments

Today is the dog hash for the month of September. CS and I were looking forward to bringing lele for the monthly hash adventure once again. This hash was held at lorong lada hitam (off mandai road). The trail was so much tedious and stamina demanding this time round. It was like non-stop of uphill and downhill. One of them is called the “hamburger hill” which was so steep like 30 degrees up slope. My legs felt like jelly the moment I reached the peak. CS and I were also lagging behind when the hash started and we ended doing some running keeping up with the pack. I was already out of breath at around half way mark but lele seems to be full of energy as always.

This hash has also been a great outing for some of our fellow Singapore Beagle Club pawpals. Several hash beagle “virgins” joined for the first time whom includes Marni, Junior, Misha and Mambo. Everyone did the off-leash thingy and some saw their beagles ran off like a wind and out of sight. There were definitely heart stopping moments within Junior and Mambo mummies, exactly similar with what I felt during our “virgin” hash. Now I still get panic mode when lele went out of sight even though this time round she did very well tagging along and checking us out constantly. Everyone is proud of their furkids when we completed the hash. And believe most of the furkids, especially the beagles truly enjoyed the hash runs. Great fun and hope to see everyone again at the next hash.

PS: Found 4 ticks crawling on lele after the hash, 2 on muzzles, 1 ear flap and 1 between the claws. Need to look into spraying more tick and fleas prevention on her if we are going to re-visit the location.

Lele anticipating for the start of the hash run.

“Sheriff” pro-hasher, Happy, checking on the newbies.

Junior warming up for his first hash.

Marni ready to charge for his first hash too.

Ollie the chief pro-hasher getting muddy before and after hash photos. He sure knows where to get his camouflage “supplies” among the terrains.

Moving on-on at halfway mark.

Pawrents whom got deserted by their furkids. (Heart-stopping moments)

“Oooooo…. cooling muddy water!!!”

Pawpals Ume and Junior Barkday Pawty (Part 2/2)

Once again, CS has did it. His photography for the beagle outing has been even more impressive this time round. It is mind boggling on me to pick a few of my favourites to be show piece in this post as there are many. Nevertheless I have round up the favourites of the favourites. Let’s applause to his efforts and “aggressiveness” in lying flat on the ground to capture the beaglie moments of our furkids.

The serious manly look of barkday boy, Junior

We titled this “SHOW OFF”. Misha licking out her long tongue along with Coffee priceless expression.

My Lele gal, the blackbelt karate doggy having the don’t play play look. (Thanks Auntie Joyce for the pressie)

Barkday gal, Ume 100% focus look. Love her eyes with the catch light.

Mik charging towards the camera man with a flying ear beagle at the background. Wonder who is that???

Peek-A-Boo Misha

Best friends stay together. You lead I watch your back. (Army style ya!!!)

They (Lele and Marni) simply can’t get enough of each other. Probably having the exact same barkday clicks well together.

Pawpals Ume and Junior Barkday Pawty (Part 1/2)

Lele had a feasty pawty yesterday. It was a perfect sunday with great weather, great food and most important great pawpals. It was once again the monthly Singapore Beagle Club outing at the same time celebrating Ume and Junior barkday. The club is really growing from the initial 5-6 beagles when lele first attended to now a whooping of around 15 beagles and other doggies too. We have standard poodle, maltese, terrier joining us this time round. It’s great to see everyone having a great time.

CS has been enjoying taking photos for the club. With my newly own macbook and his photography, I manage to create the first slideshow which turns out well. Now, let’s enjoy the video and thank you everyone for making the day an unforgettable one!!!

Le Adventures Log (Part 2/2)

Lele: Let me continue on my adventures…

9th August (Tuesday) –  Woofy wishes, Happy 46th Birthday Singapore! Woofy ya, today is the National day which is alsoSingapore’s birthday. That explains why pappi did not wake up for work. Mummi brought me a new pressie from Doggie Wardrobe to go along with this special occasion. It’s neither fun nor squeaky, but makes me look truly a Singapore Beagle. She got me a new clothing accessory, a red/white bandana featuring the colours of the Singapore flag and the wordings “I Love Singapore”. I was happily wearing it until mummi mentioned she will NOT be bringing me along to celebrate this day with Grandma (Mummi’s Mummy) at Marina Bay Sands later in the evening. Well, Grandma had booked a hotel room there to watch the fireworks and the hotel policy stated no pets allowed…. Well, why can’t they just try to smuggle me in there? I’ll be a good gal and try not to bark at the security guards. I woofy promise!!!

Sadly, Mummi and Pappi went gai-gai (walk-walk) without me.

“Wow, yummy fireworks!”

12th August (Friday) – Mummi brought me to my 2nd therapy dog volunteer work today. We went to the Thong Teck Home for Senior Citizens this time round. There were so many ah gong (Grandpa) and ah ma (Grandma) there. They are all so nice with some wanting to pat and treat me. I had fun during the first half listening to mummi’s commands and performing tricks and hoop jumps. However, I got startled and stress out at the second half. I got frightened by a young volunteer somehow and kept woofing him away. Mummi tried to calm me down but I simply cannot hear her. Next thing, a loud sound of pots and pans came from the kitchen and I reacted panicly. Not knowing what to do, I walk into my chihuahua pawpal who shooed me away. Mummi said at that point, I’ve reach the peak of stress with my tail tuck between my legs and also refused her treats even fresh liver treats which a kind lady tried offering me. I wanted to get out of the new environment so badly that I pulled hard on my leash when it’s time to go home. I got relaxed when I’m out at the open, got a water refreshment to cool down. But the worst came, when another pawpal suddenly lunged on me fiercely. I was not hurt but mummi say my soul has flew away. She immediately carried me and comfort me. I was trembling in fear in her arms. Mummi apologised to me for having such a bad day. She said it’s nobody’s fault but hers and promised to look out for me in future volunteer work and make sure I am comfortable and relax to enjoy the experience. Mummi has learned and understand me better through this experience. Hopefully I will forgotten the bad things when I get back and see the ah gong and ah ma.

Do check out some of my pawpals at work in Therapy Dogs, Singapore Facebook Page!!!
